Arkansas Alpha continues its progress and my excitement towards the future will not wane. The undergrads continue their academic streak of turning in grades of an overall 3.1 or greater GPA semester after semester. We recruit and retain membership in the range of 130 members. We strive for the Balanced Man ideal and continue to seek ways to improve our member development to better prepare our members for leadership and success in the world. We are anxiously waiting on approval for our re-certification into the SigEp Resource Learning Community program and hope to have feedback later this spring. We are putting the final touches on our Buchanan Cup application and hope to have hardware waiting for us this summer in Nashville at Conclave.
It is our top priority to ensure that the alumni are involved in our success. I will be attending the Carlson Leadership Academy in Oklahoma City 2/20-2/21 and will be seeking out alumni in the area to see how they can be a part of our momentum. We have engaged alumni in Central Arkansas to increase the amount of events and interaction of alumni in the area through luncheons, a golf tournament, and a banquet dinner. We look forward to seeing you at these activities as local alumni solidify the details. Within this newsletter, you will see several upcoming events that we implore you to make it out to.
We recently initiated a pilot mentor program in Northwest Arkansas where we will be pairing local alumni with seniors and recent graduates with similar career paths. By simply committing to exchanging emails and phone calls along with the occasional lunch or other get-together, alumni will be strengthening the SigEp bond, building their network, and driving success for all. We will keep you posted on the progress. If you are interested in participating or initiating something local, please reach out.
